Freeze-drying is a high value-added drying process, directly related to the preservation and quality of chemical and biological products, among others. However, it is a very expensive process, not only because of the initial equipment investment, but also because of the high energy consumption of the process itself. Any reduction in the duration of the cycle time will result in a reduction in energy consumption and, as a result, an increase in productivity.
For all these reasons, Telstar is organizing, as part of Farmaforum, the webinar ‘The freeze-drying process: the importance of freezing and nucleation control’. This seminar, which will take place on December 1 at 4 p.m., will analyze how the freezing phase and, specifically, nucleation, are of paramount importance throughout the freeze-drying cycle. It will also be explained that controlling nucleation offers an increase in batch homogeneity and could lead to a reduction in the duration of the entire freeze-drying cycle.
María Santafé Villarroya, Head of Process Laboratory at Telstar, will present this webinar aimed at professionals from the pharmaceutical industry, in which some examples will also be presented, as well as the Lyonuc process, developed at Telstar, to control the timing of nucleation in the batch as a whole.
More than 5,000 visitors
More than 5,000 professionals visited the 7th edition of Farmaforum, the Pharmaceutical, Biopharmaceutical, Cosmetics and Laboratory Technology Industry Forum, held at IFEMA (Madrid). With these figures, the event exceeds the records of past editions, demonstrates the good health of a crucial sector for society and faces with good prospects its next edition, which will take place on October 5 and 6, 2022. In addition to the more than 225 stands, where the proposals and innovations of the companies in the sector could be seen, there were conferences, workshops and forums with a hundred speakers.
